iWiFihack method of payment is by completing surveys and doing offers. If you make an app that is supposed to be so good, why not make people charge outright or add mobile ads to the app? So I decided to check out this app. I knew it was fake to begin with. I made a video to show internet users it was fake. That got taken down as it was flagged for inappropriate content. If you do not believe me it is fake, install it yourself if you insist on wasting your time:
1. Download the zip (link at end of page, direct download, no password or surveys)2. Extract the contents
3. Drag the .app file into iTunes
4. Plug you iDevice in and sync
5. Run a scan
6. Fight and get back at these people by going to this video on Youtube and flag / report it as a scam! If you can't flag it make an account.
So tell me, do these networks show up?
• default
• hpsetup
• HomeLife
• Linksys-g
• Linksys_SES_ 14542
Now, after you run a scan it should hit you that it is fake and the wasted your time and you made them money.

| Networks it finds are picture files |
I knew it was bogus to begin with but I wanted to see what length they took to package a fake app. Basically, the networks it finds do not exist, even if you turn the wifi off or were out in the desert, you get the same networks coming up (look at all the blurry, Youtube videos there are. All show the same thing, over and over again. If you have a look at the contents of the .app file, you will see that the networks it finds are .png files. They have at least 188 youtube accounts at any given time that spam youtube, along with threatening users and attempting to report decent accounts for false claims. Clearly if such an amazing app did work, they wouldn't need to:
• Make people do surveys, it would sell it self you could charge quite a lot
• Have to spam people and what they think are competing videos.
Are you mad? I am as mad as hell and I am not going to take it anymore! (Network 1976). Really picked on the wrong guy dudes :)
What Can You do to Stop Them?
• Report the iwifihack.net scam to their hosts, GoDaddy. This is what I wrote, copy and paste if you like:
• Go here, select the videos that are spreading the scam. Flag as inappropriate > Spam > Scams / Fraud

The app they are trying to give as free by making people complete surveys is technically impossible. The package contents of the app show that the networks it appears to find are picture files. Even in remote areas of desert, the same networks show up. This scam continues to spread throughout the internet and much of that traffic gets directed to this domain. See youtube. Same videos, multiple accounts. I hope complaints directed at this website and similar websites are taken seriously. Even if you disregard this as a scam, it still fits into the hacking, phishing and possible malware abuse categories, which is clearly against your own TOU. Thank you in advance,
• Flag this at Norton who thinks its safe?
• Give them a taste of their own medicine, spam them with hate on their two facebook pages: Here and here. Report the page as well. Don't forget to unlike after you are done :)
• Report files to file hosts (e.g. sharecash, filecrop)
• Add a comment below, helps with google rankings and awareness
• Spread the word
• Who else? let me know

So I managed to get a video (although it is not the best video, the best one got taken down) that is deemed appropriate from youtube. It is still up and here it is:
If You Are Looking To Hack:
• Installing Backtrack 5 on a Mac & Windows via Parallels
• Best iPhone / iPod / iPad Wifi Hacking Apps
iWifihack free download here (525 downloads, so far...no surveys) and I am stumped at why people believe, hope and try to install this bullshit. Does not require a jailbreak. See top of page for install instructions.

Those bastards. They really got me very excited....

ReplyDeleteThe domain name has been registered through GoDaddy: http://whois.domaintools.com/iwifihack.net
ReplyDeletewow those bitches are going down i hope the FBI look at there site and banned them for life
ReplyDeleteFirst off, anyone can fake an IP route to make it look like it's coming from somewhere it's not.
ReplyDeleteAnd second, collecting data packets is EXACTLY how you hack WEP. It's the EXACT method used when doing it from a full blown OS, like BackTrack 5.
I am NOT in any way saying what they do is justified. If their fakes, their fakes. I'm about to find out for myself. But get your facts straight if your going to post such an extensive article.
WEP is cracked through decryption of data packets, and WPA is cracked by obtaining the "4-way handshake" captured from a client in the process of connecting.
nah dude, they claim they can hack WPA through collecting packets.
ReplyDeleteI long suspected iwifihack is a scam, i appreciate your effort in exposing their scam with detailed explanations. I will proceed with the steps suggested above to stop them. I totally agree with you that these scammers must be brought down.

Damn I guess im glad i read this before i downloaded it. I was wondering about the WPA thing with the packets. I know with Backtrack you can capture packets and get a WEP key, but have to use one or more dictionaries to crack a WPA encryption. Also, the file size did seem kinda small. So, any luck in finding an app the at least can crack WEP
